Construction and Refurbishment
The School was originally built in the 1960’s. Hines Constructions worked alongside the Public Works Advisory to undertake the project for the NSW Department of Education. This was the second stage of the School that Hines Constructions was engaged to complete.
Construction included refurbishment of old infant school which comprised of 10 buildings into a new propose built centre for children with disability and special needs. 1 of the buildings required demolition and a new building constructed. Other buildings had structural damage which had to be partly demolished and reconstructed. The new areas included speciality designed multi-use classrooms, staff rooms, kitchen area, amenities, specialised toilet facilities and mobility hoist. Hines Constructions also completed works to the external play areas, landscaping, construction of cycling path, in-ground trampoline, water play garden and liberty swing.
Works were completed within a live school environment. Hines Constructions had systems in place to ensure the safety of the school students while construction was taking place. Hines engaged local subcontractors and suppliers throughout the project to deliver this quality project.
The new space is a fantastic addition to the school for current and future students.
