Construct Only.
Hines Constructions Pty Ltd worked with Public Works Advisory to complete the structural remediation works for to the heritage listed Noel Moxon Grandstand at the Bathurst Showground.
The Noel Moxon Grandstand was originally erected in 1891, since then it has had minor modifications and maintenance. Due to the age of the building when completing the new works, elements were difficult to install due to the existing structure being out of level and alignment. Works included new footings, structural steel supports, column brackets and beams, new hardwood timber beams and joists, new flooring where required, new cladding, dividing walls, lighting and painting.
The works on the grandstand were program to include a 2 week period of tools down to allow use of the grandstand during the running of the Royal Bathurst Show. Hines was also successful in securing the tendered works to upgrade the Bathurst Showground Pavilions. Both projects ran alongside each other. Besides the period for the show, the works were carried out within a live environment as the grounds continued to operate for holiday campers and farmers markets.
The structural remediation works have been completed to help preserve the grand old building for many years to come!
